Who We Are
Sri Shukla Yajur Veda Sastra Patasala, located in the sacred city of Kanchipuram, was founded on June 28, 1909 (Tamil Year Soumya Varusham, Aani month, 15th Day), with the vision of preserving and imparting the teachings of the Sukla Yajur Veda, specifically the Kanva Shaka. For over a century (115 Years as on 28-06-2024), our Patasala has remained committed to nurturing a new generation of scholars dedicated to mastering the rich heritage of Vedic wisdom.
Our Patasala is now home to 25 Vidyarthis (students) who undergo a rigorous 7-year course of study. Under the expert guidance of our revered Adhyapakar (Veda teacher), the students reside on campus and immerse themselves fully in their education. The Patasala ensures that traditional Vedic instruction is provided in an environment conducive to spiritual growth and learning.
Sri Shukla Yajur Veda Sastra Patasala was established by eight visionary founders who recognized the need to preserve and propagate the sacred teachings of the Sukla Yajur Veda for future generations.
In 1995, to further the cause of this noble institution, the Sukla Yajur Veda Sastra Patasala Trust was formed to oversee the operations and ensure the longevity of our Patasala’s mission.
